Will AI Take YOUR JOB?
It’s 1908.
Henry Ford introduced the Model T.
The first mass-produced car.
Consumers loved the affordable and reliable Model T.
This made the car mainstream.
Many feared the car would wipe out horse-drawn carriages.
However, this did not happen.
Instead, the car created new jobs.
such as taxi drivers, truck drivers, and auto mechanics.
Additionally, the car made many existing jobs easier.
This is what history says.
But we don’t know for sure.
Carriage drivers didn’t have social media to complain about it.
It’s impossible to say for sure what would have happened.
The bottom line is…
This happened before.
And will keep happening.
Get with the programme.
Back then carriage drivers didn’t get the message soon enough.
And could not ask Henry Ford what would happen now.
Who’s getting out of a job?
Who’s getting a new job?
And for whom is nothing gonna change?
Ironically, we can now ask the very technology that threatens to replace us all these questions.
So I did.
I asked AI what jobs it replaces and what jobs not gonna e affected.
Here are the 3 lists I got.
🤖 AI will replace these jobs:
• Customer service
• Data entry clerk
• Factory worker
• Telemarketer
• Loan officer
• Proofreader
• Accountant
• Radiologist
• Paralegal
• Cashier
• Driver
🤖 AI will augment these jobs:
• Marketing specialist
• Software engineer
• Web developer
• Salesperson
• Musician
• Scientist
• Teacher
• Lawyer
• Doctor
• Writer
• Nurse
• Artist
🤖 AI will not affect these jobs:
• Creative director
• Clergy member
• Entrepreneur
• Social worker
• Philosopher
• Therapist
• Politician
• Musician
• Judge
• Writer
• Artist
• CEO
I didn’t see a designer there.
Why is there no designer or any of the lists?
Is this a sign that I should change jobs?
Is anyone looking for a carriage driver with design skills?
