One Of Those Days

You just start off wrong.

You discover a bunch of negative reviews for the company that you ordered doors for your new home.

Then the dining table arrives and the color is a bit too yellow.

On top of that, your friend is in town and is tempting you to go out.

But you haven’t written your damn essay for the 30-day challenge you promised to do. What do you do then?

When anything like that happens in the real world, everything in the digital world seems irrelevant.

Your internal monologue starts:

No one even cares.
What if you skip a day?
I bet if I don’t publish, no one will notice.

And right after that, the guilt trip starts:

Maybe no one will say anything, but people will notice.
You never finish your damn projects.
This is not the way to build trust.

It’s a vicious circle that runs on a loop. And a few hours later, you haven’t made a decision.

The only way I know how to deal with this is to acknowledge and embrace my doubts and temptations. I describe in detail what bothers me and turn it into fuel to do whatever needs to be done.

In my case, it’s this stream-of-consciousness essay. I’m not going to edit it because I’m going out.

See you tomorrow.
